Before starting in real estate, Ken Jones studied and worked with many aspects of real estate. Ken Jones started his career working with MPAC (Municipal Property Assessment Corporation), which is responsible for providing property values to municipal governments for purposes of calculating property taxes. In the process, Ken developed a good knowledge of property values in Durham and Toronto neighbourhoods. He then went to work for Walmart Canada dealing with real estate and construction, where he analyzed real estate projects, maintained budgets and timelines to achieve corporate return on investment objectives. Ken's schooling includes a Real Property Administration Appraisal diploma from Seneca College and a Business Certificate from the University of British Columbia. It was shortly after his second child was born that Ken realized the value of his personal time and decided on a career change so he could spend more time with his children. Ken's education plus many of the aspects of his previous work experience prepared him well for a career in real estate. Today, Ken is building his real estate business, primarily in the lower Scarborough communities with emphasis in the Scarborough Bluffs area and surrounding neighbourhoods. Both Ken and his wife grew up in the area and are now raising their children there. You’ll find them almost every day hiking down the Bluffs or walking along the beach. Ken relates well to young families looking for their first home because he fully understands what they go through and what they need. He prefers to deal with entrepreneurs and individuals that think outside the box. Part of Ken’s attraction to real estate is seeing how people customize their home to make it their own and it is also one of the reasons the Bluffs is one of the most interesting neighbourhoods to explore, both indoors and outdoors.
